Fireman’s Fund

Since 2004, Fireman’s Fund has been able to award more than $31 million in grants through their Heritage Program. The grants that are provided by the Fireman’s Fund is able to cover the cost of the necessary training, equipment, and community programs to the brave men and women of fire departments throughout the city.

One of the best and easiest ways to get involved with the Fireman’s Fund is to purchase their products through participating independent insurance agencies, which leads to direct grants to fire departments based on the growth of business. At Brown & Brown of Orange, we are proud to announce that we were able to give $12,000 to the Orange County fire department through the Fireman’s Fund program, which helped to buy much needed flashlights.

Due to funding challenges, many fire departments have been left without the funding that is needed to provide adequate resources. Firefighters have to be the first on the scene of natural disasters, medical emergencies, vehicle accidents, and more, which means that they need to have the right supplies to help keep everyone safe.

The Fireman’s Fund was started in 1863 with a mission to support the fire service through donating a portion of their profits. Throughout the history of the program, the Fireman’s Fund has carried on a heritage of community involvement through corporate giving and volunteer programs. The Fireman’s Fund continues its mission today through its Heritage Program.
