Valentine’s Day is right around the corner! Treat your sweetheart to some sweets with these chocolate-dipped chocolate cookies.

Who doesn’t love chocolate on Valentine’s Day? Instead of buying the standard boxed chocolates, impress your date with these chocolate-dipped chocolate cookies.

  • 2 cups of flour
  • ¾ cup of cocoa powder
  • ½ teaspoon of salt
  • 1 teaspoon of baking soda
  • 1 cup of softened butter
  • 2/3 cup of brown sugar
  • 2/3 cup of granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla
  • 1 cup of dark chocolate chips
  • 1 ¾ cups of semisweet chocolate chips (divided)
  • 1 cup of heavy cream
  • Flaky sea salt

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.

In a large bowl, whisk the flour with the cocoa powder, salt, and baking soda. Set aside.

In another large bowl, beat the butter and both sugars until fluffy (an electric mixer will help!). Add the eggs one at a time and the vanilla and keep beating until combined.

Slowly mix your dry ingredients into your wet ingredients, stirring until combined. Stir in the dark chocolate chips and one cup of the semisweet chips.

Using a tablespoon, scoop cookies on your parchment-lined sheet. Bake until the centers set (9 to 11 minutes). Let the cookies cool.

Meanwhile, make your ganache. Put the remaining semisweet chips in a medium bowl. Heat the heavy cream over low until you see small bubbles form at the edges. Once you see bubbling, pour the cream over the chocolate chips. Wait five minutes, then stir until smooth.

Dip half of each cookie into the ganache and sprinkle with a little sea salt. Let the ganache set, then dig in with your sweetheart!
