The earliest recorded New Year celebration dates back over 4000 years to Babylon, where ancient Babylonians celebrated with a religious festival called Akitu. The tradition of ringing in the New Year with a celebration may have evolved tremendously over the years, but the ‘celebration’ part remains the same. For some, the celebrating means they are too impaired to drive.
No matter what your plans are for welcoming in 2018, if you will be partaking in any substances that impair judgment, do not get behind the wheel.
Several free or discounted ride services are available:
Looking forward to a very happy and safe 2018!
